Does anyone have the Better Home & Garden Gingersnap Cookie Recipe?
My aunt made this a while back, and I asked for the recipe .. She said It was in a better home & garden cookbook. I thought I had this cookbook, but it must have been lost when I moved. Does anyone have a copy of this recipe? Thank you!
Here it is: Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 1 / 2 cups granulated sugar plus additional for sprinkling 1 large egg 2 tablespoons finely grated peeled fresh ginger root 2 tablespoons dark corn syrup 1 1 / 2 teaspoon freshly grated orange peel 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice 3 4.1 cups unbleached all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 / 2 teaspoon ground cloves 1 teaspoon ground ginger in a bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer with 1 1 / 2 cups sugar until light and fluffy, and add egg, beat until well combined. Beat in fresh ginger root, corn syrup, zest for life, and orange juice. In mixture sift remaining ingredients and beat just until combined good. Halve dough and log on to a sheet of wax paper form each piece into a 10-inch. Chill logs, wrapped in wax paper, at least 1 day to 1 week. Preheat oven to 350 ° And C. Lightly grease baking sheets. Cut logs cut 1/4-inch-thick slices and 2 inches apart on baking sheets. Sprinkle cookies lightly with additional sugar and bake in batches in the middle of the oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Transfer cookies from rack to cool. Makes about 80 biscuits.
