Fully feathered purple Martin will not fly?
The bird is more than 30 days old. It has full suspension and almost the size of an adult Martin. She had the fallen from the nest and I took care of them. I try to get them to fly. I laid her in her house and the others come from Martins, but they will only to jump into a tree. It will sit there for hours. Then lands on the ground and I gave her back outside on a tree and this was repeated – fall and sit on the floor. Any suggestions appreciated. Have you ever dealt with Purple Martins?
I'm a wild bird rehabilitator happen and purple Martins to my favorite bird <3 It sounds like you have a young, if it is smaller than an adult can perch on your finger and beat its wings, it is a young one. Birds leave the nest per week to 10 days before they can fly, but they are still parents should feed. If you really think it is an adult, there is probably an injury or illness and need to take to your local wildlife rehabilitator. Please do not try and treat yourself to the bird, I often have people bring me birds and they tried to feed them manage, or medical and still others injured bird.
